Historical experience
ANUVA Investments - How it all began...
ANUVA Investments Limited (AIL) is a Section 12J venture capital company (or VCC), raising approximately R2.3 billion from more than 850 private investors.
Section 12J was a government tax incentive that allowed investors to deduct qualifying investments in approved venture capital companies from their taxable income. The incentive ended on 30 June 2021, closing the regime to new tax-deductible investments.
Today, ANUVA continues to hold and actively manage the underlying portfolio on behalf of our shareholders, with a focus on protecting and realising long-term value.

Our Section 12J Funds
ANUVA Investments share classes at a glance.
Class A
Private Equity
+/- R196m
Class A invested into the direct equity of 6 small businesses. The funds strategy was to grow these businesses to eventually sell (if appropriate) or earn dividends for distribution to Class A shareholders.
The fund continues to be managed by ANUVA with the oversight of the Investment Committee.
Class G
Fixed Yield Equity
+/- R100m
Class G was established as a fixed yield investment class that deployed capital into secured funding opportunities in the Class A Private Equity portfolio.
Most notably, Class G, has been one of ANUVA's most successful share classes distributing over R50m since its inception.
Class F
Hospitality Property
+/- R1.8bn
By far our largest investment category. Class F was formed as a partnership with Flyt Property.
Flyt has sourced and developed 5 hospitality properties that it continues to own.
Class O
Omni-bus
+/- R150m
The Class O omni-bus structure allowed individuals or groups of individuals to utilise ANUVA as a section 12J compliant vehicle.
This allowed investors to invest in and manage their own assets while ANUVA managed admin and compliance on their behalf.
